Would You Like to Live on a Boat in Derbyshire?

There are lots of benefits to living on a boat: there are no noisy neighbours, you can move whenever you please, and you get to see some stunning views. For many people the idea of living on a boat is just a dream, but it will become a reality for the person who buys Me, You and Moo.

Boat Life

Me, You And Moo is a canal boat that is currently based at Willington’s Mercia Marina. The wide canal boat is for sale for under £87,000, which is very cheap compared to a house. According to the Guardian, the average house price is £207,308. That is more than double the price of the boat – but would you enjoy boat life?

It is certainly a very peaceful existence, so it is ideal for anyone who wants to escape the daily grind of life.

The boat is currently owned by Melbourne couple Laura Stretton, 38, and Andy Harris, 50, who own two boats and are looking to buy a third. They bought their first boat nine years ago, but it was a narrow boat and after a while they decided to upgrade. They then bought Me, You and Moo, a wide-beam boat with much more space.

Me, You and Moo

The bigger boat became their home for the next four years, but now they plan on buying a third boat. Me, You and Moo is now on sale for £86,950. The boat is 60 feet long and 10 feet wide, and it comes with a big open-plan kitchen and a dining area. The modern kitchen has a washing machine, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, an LPG cooker and hob, black granite surfaces, LED down-lighting and even stunning wooden laminate flooring.

The dining room is carpeted, and it features an oak dining table, a beautiful fuel stove, a TV and sound bar system and built-in cabinets and storage space.

The boat also features a double bedroom with bedside cabinets, mirrored wardrobes and even more storage space. The bathroom also has a full-sized shower.

And if you were curious about the name of the boat, Moo is the name of the couple’s cocker spaniel!
